Internacional (Marketwired, 20 de Agosto de 2013) The Honourable Tony Clement, President of the Treasury Board, today highlighted the Government's efforts to support job creation, economic growth and long-term prosperity in an address to members of the Meadow Lake business community."Saskatchewan has one of the strongest economies in Canada, creating thousands of new jobs and opportunities," said Minister Clement. "I am proud of our Government's strong record of empowering entrepreneurs and business people, and unlocking Canada's full potential."

Through Economic Action Plan 2013, the Government committed to help Canadians obtain the skills and qualifications they need to get jobs in high-demand fields by introducing the Canada Job Grant program.

"With the Canada Job Grant, we are showing our commitment to addressing Canada's skills shortage, which hinders our growth and competitiveness," said Minister Clement. "In addition, our Government is cutting red tape for Canadian business through the Red Tape Reduction Action Plan and making the regulatory process as pain-free as possible."

The Government launched the Red Tape Reduction Action Plan in October 2012. The Action Plan, which is one of the most far-reaching and ambitious red tape-cutting initiatives in the world today, gets rid of business irritants in areas from tax and payroll to labour, transport and trade, and introduces time-saving measures like single windows and electronic submissions.

The Government is also taking steps to deliver better service at reduced cost to taxpayers by modernizing the public service.

"As President of the Treasury Board, it is my job to lead our efforts to identify opportunities for efficiencies in all our operations. Canadians deserve the best value and services for their tax dollars," Minister Clement added. "We are encouraging innovation and productivity to ensure a high-performing and dynamic public service."
